Home Americas Exploring the French Quarters of New Orleans

Exploring the French Quarters of New Orleans

written by ParoChak February 22, 2015

French quarters (Vieux Carré) is the oldest neighborhood and cultural hub of NOLA where all the action happens during and in the days leading up to the grand spectacle of Mardi Gras. Comprising of beautiful houses interjected with cobbled streets, the flickering gas lamps and the wooden railed windows bear testimony to the eclectic French, Spanish, Creole and American influences over two centuries. Here is a look at the French Quarters, up close and personal: stores to shop, galleries to explore, a charming market to stop by, parades to watch and the epic Mardi Gras madness to immerse in.
